Travelling around the world, is definitely one of the best things to do in life! There is no substitute for experiencing life, than the wisdom you gain from travel.

It's a great way to get to know your real self, and it opens your mind to diversified cultures, food, music, languages and fashion. It's about lifetime experiences and living your life to the fullest. It's about making new friends all over the world, with priceless memories.

It's for these reasons that I pursued a career in travel, because of my passion for the industry. It lead me to work onboard a cruise liner travelling the exotic Pacific Islands of New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Fiji, to working in a reservations centre for a leading Australian Airline.

The great thing about TripAdvisor, is that it features real advice from real travellers and unbiased reviews and opinions on hotels, attractions and vacations. Lonely Planet on the other hand, produces the world's best travel guides, with reliable and comprehensive travel information.The guide books are a great source to take with on your trip!

Remember the golden rule in booking your travel services. 'If it's too good to be true- it probably is'! Be vigilant about these kind of offers, to avoid the holiday from hell. If your dealing with an Australian company and your not 100 per cent sure that it's legitimate, you can conduct a free search on the national names index on ASIC's website.

As I mentioned previously, Internet scams can be avoided by taking the right precautions. Unfortunately, many people don't see the same point of view for their safety or health when travelling. I was once advised 'If you can't afford travel insurance you can't afford the trip'. I couldn't agree with this quote more.

Cancellations, unexpected changes to travel itinaries, lost luggage, accidents and illnesses can all ruin your dream holiday.
